Among The Broken is a faith based 501c3, non-profit for charities, based out of San Antonio, Texas. We have been providing goods and volunteer services to neglected sectors of our city since November 2011. Some areas of outreach include, but are not limited to, the homeless, nursing home residents, those afflicted with HIV/AIDS, and low income families. We strive to not just make a difference in the lives of the marginalized, but to make a lasting impact on our community that will be carried for years to come.

Here at Among The Broken, we put a lot of effort in providing some of the essential needs for the areas of our community that we serve. When we provide for the homeless, we hold a clothing drive, which normally results in collecting enough clothing to fill up a service utility van. Among The Broken has sponsored a nursing home every year since 2010. Every Thanksgiving Day, we provide fellowship and various game activities, which range from playing Loteria as a whole group, or playing Uno and board games in smaller groups. We also provide holiday blankets for the residents. Over the past five years, Among The Broken has taken part in the AIDS Walk held in San Antonio. The funds raised help to continue to provide to the community free testings, educational resources, and assistance to selected patients.
Our Beliefs
These words as basic and common as they might appear, play a big part of Among The Broken’s mission. We have been called to serve, and because of that our actions embody these words. We serve without expecting anything in return. We just want to be allowed the opportunity to make a difference in the community.
Generosity – When we give of our resources and time and we don’t expect anything in return.
Faith – Believing in God and the mission He has bestowed upon us.
Service – The physical aspect of helping others.
Give – When we offer of our resources and time.
Compassion – Understanding and/or sympathizing with someone’s suffering.
Community – People coming together to make a difference.
Humanity – When you see people as God’s creation and set aside race, social class, and religious or political beliefs.
Healing – The outcome of when people come together and make a difference in the lives of others.
